STAFFORD ARTS COMMISSION BRINGS BACK VOICES!

Bread Box Coffee House
February 27, 2010
Willimantic CT

Stafford Arts Commission is taking the theater presentation “Voices of a People’s History of the United States” to Willimantic, for a performance on Saturday, February 27, 2010.

This will be a cooperative venture with Bruce Johns, and the “Bread Box” Coffee House group, who are dedicated to raising funds and collecting food for the Covenant Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry in Willimantic. The “Bread Box” is situated in the sanctuary of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church which has been transformed into a small theater for folk music and spoken word performances.

After two very well received performances of this powerful and innovative theater experience in Stafford Springs, the Arts Commission is anticipating another successful presentation of Howard Zinn and Anthony Arnove’s compelling creation.

The cast of Stafford residents and friends of the Arts Commission will read the sometimes stark and exceptionally dynamic speeches chosen by America’s distinguished historian in his book, again bringing to life the voices of those who have made history happen.
